Privacy Policy
Pathie helps you plan trips, save places and share routes. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Pathie ("we", "us") is a brand operated by Berkay Berkman as a sole proprietorship based in Istanbul, Türkiye, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. For anything in this policy, including data requests, contact hello@pathie.travel.
What we collect
Account
An email address, and a display name if you set one. You can sign in with Apple or Google, in which case we receive the identifier and email that service releases to us. You can also use Pathie without an account, as a guest; a guest session still creates an anonymous record so your saved places and routes survive between launches.
Optionally: a profile photo, a short bio and a home city, if you add them.
Things you create
Routes ("Pathies"), Stamps, saved places, photos you upload, comments, likes and who you follow. Stamps and routes are private unless you choose to publish them; published ones are visible to other people in the app, together with your display name and profile photo.
Location
If you grant location permission, your device's coordinates are used to show what is near you — the map, nearby places and distances. The app asks the operating system for this and you can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings; Pathie still works without it, it just cannot tell you what is nearby.
Links you paste or share
When you share an Instagram or TikTok link with Pathie, we fetch that page's public preview information to work out which place it is about. We store the link and what we extracted from it. We do not sign in to those services as you and we do not receive your account there.
Diagnostics and usage
Crash reports and error traces, and anonymous product analytics (which screens are opened, which features are used). When you shake the device to report a problem, the report includes your message, the screen you were on, your app version and device model, and a screenshot — the screenshot is taken at that moment and only with that action.
Purchases
If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We receive the subscription's status, product and renewal dates. We never receive your card details.
Launch waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this website, we store the email address you enter, the language of the page and the time you signed up. We use it only to tell you when Pathie is available to download. We do not share it or use it for anything else.

Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
What the AI providers see
To build a route we send the destination, dates, trip style and similar preferences you supply. We do not send your email, your name or your precise coordinates, and we do not use your content to train anyone's models.
How long we keep it
Your account and its content are kept until you delete them. Crash reports and analytics are kept on our providers' standard retention schedules. Problem reports are kept while the issue is open and for a reasonable period after it is fixed.
Waitlist emails are kept until we have sent the launch announcement, or until you ask us to remove yours — whichever comes first. To be removed, email us or reply to any message we send.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete Account, in the app. It is immediate and irreversible. It removes your account, your routes, Stamps, saved places, photos, likes, comments, follows, survey answers and subscription records, and signs you out everywhere.
Two things deliberately survive, with your identity removed from them: problem reports you sent us, so a bug you reported does not vanish mid-investigation, and messages you sent in a conversation, so the other person's copy stays readable. Neither is still linked to you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent — location — you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what came before.
Write to hello@pathie.travel. You also have the right to complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, KVKK), or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Children
Pathie is not for people under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
